It is a little tricky to test since there are various pins on the connector and they all have different functions. The best way to do it is to measure the resistance between the ECU and the sensor. If the sensor is operational, it should read around 1000 ohms. Examine for signs of coolant or oil in the connector bay if you have issues with this component.
2. Injectors
Yesterday, as i was accelerating off the highway paytoll at a high speed I noticed a significant decrease in power. It was like the engine had run out of gas. Or, my injectors weren't firing. Today, i pulled out the spark plugs, three were drenched with gazoline the 4th one was dry. When I start the engine without sparks, i place a tissue on the top of each hole in the injector and the 3 that were drenched in gazoline jump out but the 4th stays closed. I inspected the ground connection on ECU pins 14/55,30/55 and 48/55 I get zero ohm. So i assume the problem is in another place.
I also tried to reset PID without success. The car is able to start if the G28 is unplugged and runs fine when it is connected, but still has intermittent misfire issues at higher RPM. The coolant sensor (G62), even when it is unplugged, shows an ice temperature of -49c. Also i noticed that the gauge for oil pressure in the cockpit is showing 2 bar, whereas the actual pressure is 0.0 when I crank up the engine.
I'm not certain what to do, as i believe that i've ruled out everything else. However, i'm afraid that i might have missed something. Let me know If you have any suggestions! TIA!
3. Fuel Pump
The fuel pump in the g28 can be activated by a signal by the RPM sensor. The GM-style transmitter is identical to the G4 and they both work in the 80, 100, 200, UrS and RS2 cars which is why you can easily locate one at a junkyard or from a parts store.
