How to Replace an audi spare key cost G28 Engine Speed Sensor

In this video, Charles the humble mechanic demonstrates how to replace the G28 engine speed sensor. The sensor is located near the edges of the transmission, above the flywheel ring gear. It sends a message to the ECU via an uncolored wire T55/49, then to the tachometer on the instrument cluster.

1. Engine Speed Sensor

The grey wire is situated on the outside of the transmission, just above the flywheel ring. This sensor sends a signal via the grey wire to pin T55/49. The ECU utilizes this information to control fuel and boost. It also sends an indicator to the G5 Tachometer located in the instrument cluster.

The sensor is used to link with the G40 Camshaft position Sensor. The ecu needs to know when the crankshaft is TDC and where the camshaft is so it can start spark and injectors according to the situation.

If this sensor fails, the ECU will throw an error code P00160 which indicates that the Crank Shaft and Intake Camshaft are out of sync and could indicate the chain stretching or a jump link on the upper timing chain. The code won't show without the additional information supplied by other sensors (G4 or G40).

Testing can be a bit difficult as there are two different pins for the connector and they serve different purposes however the best method to test it is to measure resistance between the sensor and the ECU. It should read approximately 1000 ohms if the sensor is in full operation. If you are having problems with this component, look for audi a5 Key fob (Https://stockpark7.werite.net/whats-the-reason) signs of oil or coolant in the connector bay.

2. Injectors

Yesterday, while accelerating at full speed from the highway paytoll, I experienced an abrupt drop in power like the engine is out of gas or the injectors aren't firing anymore. I pulled out the spark plugs this morning, three were soaked in gasoline, and the fourth was dry. When I crank the engine, there are no sparks i put tissue on top of each injector hole, the 3 drenched with gazoline pop out, but the 4th stays shut. I tested the ground connection of ECU pins 14,30, and 48/55. I got 0ohm. I think the issue is elsewhere.

I also tried to reset the PID without success. The car can start when the G28 is unplugged and runs fine when it is connected, but still has intermittent misfire issues at higher RPM. The coolant sensor (G62), even if it is not plugged in, shows an ice temperature of -49c. Also i noticed that the oil pressure gauge in the cockpit is showing 2 bar when the actual pressure is 0.0 if i crank up the engine.

I'm not sure what to do. I feel like i've pretty much ruled everything else out. I'm worried that i might have missed something. If anyone has any ideas please share them! TIA!

3. Fuel Pump

The fuel pump in the g28 gets a signal from the RPM sensor. The GM-style transmitter is similar to the G4 sender and works on the 80,100,200, UrS, and RS2 vehicles. You can easily locate an extra in a wrecking shop or parts store. It is simple to test them: simply put your DMM into resistance mode and measure the distance between pins 1 and 2 (with the bump at the connector end facing up). They should be infinite Ohms.

4. ECU

Our 20vt turbo (3B AAN, replacement Key for audi a3 ABY, and ADU) engines are equipped with an ECU that must be aware of the speed and position of the crankshaft in order to make a decision about timing of the fuel injector, for example. To accomplish this, it makes use of a Crank Position Sensor (G4) and an Engine Speed Sensor (G28). If you are experiencing issues with either one of these, the diagnostic scanner will display the codes that could trigger the engine shutting down.

A damaged G28 sensor can cause an inaccurate speed counter replacement key for audi your gearbox and a gearbox which shifts more quickly than normal, and/or a misfire in the gear. If you experience any of these issues it is likely that your sensor is deteriorating and needs replacing. The good thing is that they are very affordable and easily accessible particularly when you're looking at a Bosch sensor, which is what we have. You can also choose the GM version of this component is also a good choice.

5. Tachometer

A faulty engine speed sensor could be the cause of many problems in your vehicle. It is an important part of the transmission in your Audi Key Replacement Cost since it sends information to the ECU regarding how fast or slowly the car's engine is turning. This sensor can cause the transmission to fail and other car components to be affected.

woman-showing-the-car-keys-2022-12-16-22-09-32-utc-min-scaled.jpgThe G5 engine speed sensor is located at the outside of the transmission, above the flywheel ring gear. It sends a signal to the ECU at pin T55/49, via an uncolored wire. The ECU utilizes this signal to control fuel and boost, as well as timig. It also transmits it to the G5 Tachometer in instrument cluster. You can check the sensor for any failure by checking the continuity between it and the tachometer. You can also check continuity between ECU pin T55/49 and the instrument cluster connection on pin T6a/1 (trace [79trace [79]) as well as between T6a/1, and the instrument cluster pin T26a/12. You should see a resistance of approximately 1000 ohms in these areas. This is a common component across the audi key replacement cost uk 80 100 200, UrS and RS2 range from 1985 MC through the 1997 UrS AAN and 1995 RS2 ADU so good ones might be availble in wrecking yards.Porsche-New-2023.png
